Seems you only have listened Wonderwall...

There are a few FOW songs that sound like Oasis (not only this one). I think FOW is a band with a very own identity. There is no need to to try to be who you are not...

Singer sounds like Liam, and the song is quite similar to stop the clocks, which might not have been released as an oasis song, but by Noel after he quiz oasis. An oasis version of stc also leaked back in 2008. So there's the oasis connection for you.

Why the hell are folks harping on about Oasis? I haven't heard an Oasis song that sounds remotely like this.

You must be high to think that, these guys barely imitated Oasis, and the "Be Here Now" one, which was well-known to be the worst album by them.

i have no idea why this never got more attention, it's a great song.

It was a great song. Even thought it was Oasis, but even if it wasn't still being one of my favorites. Can't stop hearing.

SoupyGeorge you're a tool. Fountains of Wayne mostly just beat Oasis at their own game with this one.

@SoupyGeorge Thank You for understanding. :)

@MrAmberRocker Ok then, thanks for letting me know. I didn't realise that's why they did. It just annoys me when people try too hard to imitate others cos I just think they should be themselves but if you say they're paying tribute then I guess that's a different story

MrAmberRocker

@SoupyGeorge It's not so much a rip off as a simple tribute of respect to bands that greatly influenced their style and thinking. I truely hope you can appreciate the difference in paying one's respect and just trying to copy them. FoW is rather famous for such tributes to former bands that highly influenced their own style. Yet they do indeed have a unique style of their own. Their albums "Traffic & Weather" as well as "Out of State Plates" are prime examples. Research Adam Schlesinger . :)

@MrAmberRocker You're excused. Stacy's Mom is the only song I've ever heard by them apart from this. Is this the bands true style then? Ripping off great English bands?

MrAmberRocker

@SoupyGeorge Ahh, Excuse me plz, but Stacy's Mom is hardly the bands true style as it was for the most part a 1 hit wonder. If you can't appreciate the band for what they truely are, then go listen some new age crap punk rap funk BS. :P

@Queensizemusic I've heard "of" them , but never truely heard them. I've have look it up and Thx. ;)
