The first time I heard this was back in Ontario when it first came out. My friend and I had just finished a job out of town abd we were half cut and a bit stoned Going home and my friend put this in the cassette player. As the melody progressed we when down the road and when it cam to the creshendo (who else can't spell that) we went past a cut where hydro towers were dominating the landscape and it felt like monsters invading. Very close to "war of the worlds" before it was.
