Lyrics

What have we done with innocence?

It disappeared with time

It never made much sense

Adolescent Resident

Wasting another night on planning my revenge

(Chorus)

One in ten

One in ten

One in ten

Don't want to be your monkey wrench

One more indecent accident

I'd rather leave than suffer this

I'll never be your monkey wrench

All this time to make ammends

what do you do when all your enemies are friends?

Now and then I'll try to bend

Under pressure wind up snapping in the end

(Chorus)

One in ten

One in ten

One in ten

Don't want to be your monkey wrench

One more indecent accident

I'd rather leave than suffer this

I'll never be your monkey wrench

One last thing before I quit

I never wanted anymore than I could fit into my head

I still remember every single word you said

And all the shit that somehow came along with it

Still there's one thing that comforts me

Since I was always caged and now I'm free

Don't want to be your monkey wrench

One more indecent accident

I'd rather leave than suffer this

I'll never be your monkey wrench

Don't want to be your monkey wrench (fall in fall out)

Don't want to be your monkey wrench (fall in fall out)

Don't want to be your monkey wrench (fall in fall out)

Don't want to be your monkey wrench

Best Foo Fighters album. I remember getting on the radio back in the late 90s when I was 13 requesting to hear My Hero, cuz I couldn't afford the cassette tape I'd sit around with a tape deck waiting to hear this song and record it off the radio.

I've been listening to bands like Foo Fighters, Nirvana, and Red Hot Chili Peppers for a little while and I'm in love with the music... I'm called goth, emo, stuff like that cuz I don't listen to the modern "techno" stuff. I hate it. They don't even know the music and they think that they have the right to judge me because they take one look at the title, the lyrics, or the band themselves and think that's that. There's not a really good alternative song by them. Learn to Fly is a classic example of one of those songs, but nobody will try it because it's by Foo Fighters. I told my 12 year old brother the background of the Foo Fighters members and he went ballistic. Oh, just so you know I'm 13 and in middle school. I broke off pop music in 6th grade when I started liking Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Journey, and Boston. Nobody judged me then, but now, all of a sudden, everybody hates me just because of the music I like. Society is never pleased. I think if I changed my musical tastes to pop I would have more than 5 friends, and all 5 of us are rejected for something. Put us together and you get "that group". And all five of my friends are going to a different school now. So now where does that leave me? Alone, because of my musical taste...

Idk why people are constantly comparing Dave Grohl's work with Nirvana, to Foo Fighters. He grew a lot as a person and a musician during his time playing with Krist and Kurt. Both bands are completely legendary regardless of how different they may be as far as genre.
