For what little it's worth I don't think this version is a patch on the Ramones version. The best cover version of this song I've heard is one on youtube by an outfit I was other unfamiliar with, a band named Mandala. Give it a go and see what you think. A great version of a tremendous song on in my humble view.

i love this song, this band is awesome. i love the energy the foo fighters brought to this song, you can tell they love the ramones. the ramones are my fav, under that is tom waits. who got the closest to what joey was going for in this song. life on the road sucks
