FOLSOM PRISON BLUES - GIL TRYTHALL (1970)

If "The Ledge" Legendary Stardust Cowboy is "Cow Punk" then Gil is Stetson Techno.

This is a strange odyssey take using the Moog Synthesizer. Gil was a techno expert tutor.

I purchased this album back in the 70's. I thought it was the coolest thing and back then it was. I think I still have it turn table from Radio Shack that I gave about $ 89.00 back in the 60's. I remember I could set the tone arm to 1 1/2 grams of pressure. sometimes it would skip so I upted it to 2 grams. Those were the days....

What weird stuff. But man, the Moog sure was a nice sounding instrument. Something rich and appealing about that low-fi analog.

This piece, and the Country Moog record, is a true American classic - on every level. No doubt about it!
