What a great voice. She exudes sexuality by the way she simply walked and moved her head to emphasize lyrics as she sang with sincerity. Never doing it to get an audience response. She was a natural. One of the best female vocalists this country ever produced. She should have recorded many more solo albums, and should have performed with many other great performers. She was up there with the legendary singers because she actually was one of them.

It is interesting two of Mary Travers' most vocally beautiful performances, this solo record as well her vocals on Peter, Paul & Mary's version of "Leaving On A Jet Plane," were both written by Henry John Deutschendorf, Jr., better known to the world as "John Denver." This makes one wonder what an entire album's worth of Denver tunes might have done in terms of fostering a solo career for Miss Travers.It is also noteworthy the only #1 hit for Peter, Paul & Mary was "Leaving On A Jet Plane." Even if one did not agree with P, P & M's politics, there is no denying the beauty of that recording, and how well the trio's voices blended on it.

this is one of my favorite songs written by john Denver. I know john, Olivia newton-john & peter, paul & mary collaborated quite often. this is one of those songs that would have been incredible to have been done as a duet with either if the three. sorry to say john left us far too soon to have made this possible. that being said, rest well john & mary. you will be forever missed by all.
