What a lovely pretty clear voice. I listen to it several times over. Joan

A really good version! It's the second tune in Vaughn Williams "Fantasia on Greensleeves", and the basis for "Touch and Go" by Emerson, Lake, and Powell.

If I had a copy of the vinyl I could persuade one friend of mine to transcribe it to digital. He has a $40,000 plus record player (that is for the turntable alone) and his CD renditions of vinyl are by a long way superior to any commercial CD releases I have heard. Any volunteers?

I agree. We're so conditioned to cd, digital, mp3 etc. The reality being you just can't beat handling vinyl. I played an old Elvis 78 a while ago on a 78 dansette. It was punchier and the nuances in the sound were unbelievable. I would really love an original of this LP.

This is the ONLY album I have ever paid to download in MP3 format. Simply beautiful even allowing for the lossy compression and obvious vinyl noise.

They are from Bristol in the West of England. What information there is can be obtained on the web. Check out the sites. There are other treasures from the vaults too.

Isn't lovely to hear an English folk sung in a proper English accent, rather than that bizarre part West Country, part Lancashire, part God-knows-what accent that modern folkies use?

@minutegongcoughs that is so true folk songs like this are so good and again thank you for putting this on

@MorrisManDanceMan There's been no copyright hassle on this track (yet). How we missed a fine group like this first time round is an example of what other great music is yet to be discovered. This genre goes for big bucks these days.
