Reply to Robin2012ism - I had the same thought - likely a leftover from SavoyBrown . For that matter, can you imagine how good it could have been if done with Chris Youlden singing the vocal? No offense to Lonesome Dave, but Youlden was a unique voice and talent. That said, this is my favorite Foghat song...

you are right, while I appreciate the band still going at it, IT"S NOT THE SAME! Such as life.

@Wes Mitchell, there doesn't sound like any Rhodes on this cut, the acoustic piano comes in hard right at 2:15 mimmicking the bass line, and then at about 4:08 the Wurlitzer comes in on the left. James Crispell's Allmusic entry doesn't mention any keyboard credits but Rundgren did get a credit for "unknown contributor role" on this album so it is quite likely that he did do the keys but my friends who were at Bearsville during that period, just before I got there are checking to see who actually played keys besides him on these sessions. Cheers, great piece, I am a friend of Chuck Huhn who is playing with Earl now with the band, so he may know also.

Musical perfection. It almost doesn't sound like Dave singing.

That is an incredible cut. I will spin it, that's for sure.

What a crappy recording/uploading job. Obviously HudsonTL has never heard about VU settings. If one likes a low signal to noise ratio they would like a great song recorded improperly.

Actually this may be the only Foghat song with strings.

This song is so cool and so unlike Foghat. Trying to remember who played Fender Rhodes. Was it Todd Rundgren? He was the original producer but the didn't get along and they hired Dave Edmunds. Does anyone remember?

One of the GREATEST bands ever and so under rated it isn't funny...Lonesome had one of the most unique voices and yet he was so kickass...Rod was a great guitarist and both are so sadly missed by me and so many others...thankx for posting...

@staggza some people prefer the sound of vinyl over the electronically enhanced shit
