I think I remember her talking about this song once, years ago when I was an avid Flyleaf listener, and if I'm correct she said this was about people high up in the church who didn't practice what they preached, and basically didn't have the love in their hearts. I'm not religious but I always adored this message.

Why do so many feel so compelled to help "save" others? It makes no sense at all that humans actual believe they need to do their God's work. Isn't the Holy Spirit capable of doing that? If God wants us he gets us. No need for one human to interfere and act as some sort of mediator between the incredible thing they call God and people like me. I'm sure that if I'm part of God's plan God will reveal to me what no human can, but if not, I'm certain that too was God's will and there ain't much I can do about it. Just ask Judas what power he had to change his fate. I came here looking for a song that dealt with sweeping or brooms, so please don't get all up in me about being here and not agreeing with what I'm listening to. I write music, melodies and especially lyrics and from my perspective, this song isn't bad, whether Christian or secular in intent.
