Y'all know this is just my opinion, right? What did you think of this album? Love it? Hate it? Why? What should I review next, eh?

Did this dude just say that the 2nd track had "some good keys." That was Herbie Hancock on the keys. A legend who has played with Miles Davis. Maiden Voyage, Miles Smiles, Head Hunters, just to name a few legendary albums. Come on dude. Know your shit before recording a review.

Perhaps FlyLo's best album. Cosmogramma grew on me after a few listens and UTQC was a masterpiece. 1983 & Los Angeles are equally as good too! I think he has the be the greatest producer going.

I agree! Every single song along with its dynamic transitions stimulated me on so many dimensions. I like your review though, very thorough.

Concerning some of the songs that were shorter, that you said present a brief flash of an idea but are never fully fleshed out; that's EXACTLY what I felt about The Protest on this album. It created such this weird longing, like I was waiting for something and then it was over. Feelings were a tad hurt, but I still replay all 1:18 of that song until I get to work in the morning.:)

I think his songs are suppper deep the way it exposes itself about death. The videos are creative and make me think about the world and after life.

i personally loved the whole entire album, and like needledrop said the album just fades out at the end it wasnt like 24 song zip file like at the end of the album he ended with like a grand beginning and it goes to a jazz beat with some vocals and horns. But overall i love the whole album and ive listened to the entirety like 15 times

This is his best album since Los Angeles. Cosmmagramma was good but lacked focus in my opinion. Until the Quiet Comes was the nadir of his output. It had one or two great songs, but the rest of the album felt like filler. You're Dead is a return to form. There are very few throwaway tracks. There's a great variety here too, while always keeping a cohesive tone. There are song that fell very experimental and also songs that would feel right at home on a radio station. Overall I think it's a great album, it's got me excited about flylo again. I think he still hasn't yet released his magnum opus.

It just fades out, anticlimactically hey? Maybe because the entirely album is a metaphor for death and dying. I guarantee Fly Lo thought about exactly how he wanted the album to end. This was done on purpose, believe.
