Lyrics:

14 million miles a gallon

before she blows

14 million miles a gallon

i long for the ride

some tides i've yet to stride

i won't deny my mind

14 million miles

i've climbed in strive

to cease decline of my kind

14 million miles a gallon

before she blows

14 million miles a gallon

before she blows

makin' sure my head is balanced

for the trip back home

i swear i'm comin'

i'll be right there

14 million miles a gallon

before she blows

14 million miles a gallon

before she blows

makin' sure my head is balanced

for the trip back home

i swear i'm comin'

i'll be right there

14 million miles...

Actually Fly's music was on The Lost Highway soundtrack which was a favorite movie of both boys.

I'm pretty sure Dylan Klebold said "I want you to have that FLYS cd." and it was misheard and mistranscribed as "fly cd." He was referring to The Flys who had a hit song "Got You Where I Want You" only a few months before the tragedy. Klebold and Harris were into pretty mainstream stuff. I really doubt the obscure band "Fly" would even have been on their radar. What makes you think that is even the cd he was referring to? Did you just google bands named "fly" and decided it was this band? The Flys makes a lot more sense because their cd Holiday Man was popular at the time and it would be the kind of music a suburban teenage girl in the 90's would have been into, so it would make sense that she would have borrowed it from him.

There is provoking music on the other hand. But that's another story. It doesn't make you harm anyone. Art needs to provoke, and make people to take action. Or provoke you to feel something. Otherwise it don't have purpose. If it just entertains you, than it's not art, it's entertainment.

I don't believe there is evil music, music is just a sound. But I do believe there might be evil minds that create music, and want to use it in wrong purposes. I also think that's quite rare. Music and lyrics can't be taken literally most of the time. It's mostly all metaphors. So if you already have suicidal thoughts, you will understand the most harmless song in the very wrong way. You need to be creative and observe the song from several corners.

I personaly don't think any kind of music can make you do something you don't want to. In my opinion, he just liked this album and his friend - so he wanted to give her something to have a nice memory of him. But linking music to this tragedy became a must, since the media blamed numerous bands, especially Marilyn Manson for the tragedy. He didn't put guns in their hands - but someone else did.

implying that this kind of music secludes the mind into a state allowing for massacres at the hands of oneself?

It's probably because Eric said in the basement tapes (in the one made 30 minutes before the attack) to his friend Susan that he would like her to have "that Fly CD", refering to this album.

this link has been suggested as music to listen to while watching the killings at columbine high school. and the album name is bombthreat. how ironic.......
