I would LOVE to know why the song was titled as it was - was this really a last date for someone that he thought was very special??????

I saw him in 1967 , at the Montreal 's World Fair.. and I never forgot this man , who seemed very lonely to me , he was alone at the piano , no one around , and he had a glass of either scotch or whisky and he seemed so sad.. He will always be one of the best musicians the US ever had.

Today would have been my parents' 57th anniversary. I think of them every time I hear this song. And who better to introduce it than another of my parents' favorites, Johnny Cash. Thank you Floyd for a timeless song.
