I just realised that at 1:30 that may be a possible reference to Voodoo. Though I might be stretching it a bit...I mean the song is about Irish slaves transported into slavery in the Caribbean after English Civil War, so at this time they would have met a lot of West African slaves in the colonies. IIRC Voodoo started out as a mix of West African religions and Roman Catholicism in Haiti (at the time the French colony of Saint-Domingue). It never really occurred in any British colonies, but I do like the idea of Irish Catholicism mixing with West African Vodun religions.
