...But I disagree about In Utero...lots of weak songs there. Incesticide isn't really an album, it's a b-sides collection, but it's one of their best discs sure. But they are a gritty pop band, sorry.

I don't hate successful bands, I don't even hate Nirvana. But the idea that they're a hard, underground band that suddenly became big is nonsense. Nevermind came out after Dinosaur JR, Sonic Youth, Jain's Addiction etc. laid the groundwork for alternative music and it is a calculated pop record of big simple songs with loud singalong choruses. You like it? fine, so did I for a long time though I'm sick of it now. But it's designed to be pop music. Bleach is a great punk record...

I don't know, i think nirvana just got discovered because they happened to be playing at the right time in rock history whenever people were finally sick of the big hair bands and the demand for something new was off the charts, people ate up nirvana, and it was before the internet so people only saw what was pushed by major record companies. Nirvana became pop by accident, really. Bleach, incesticide, in utero.. great albums and fuck people who hate successful bands, shame on you.
