Some Happy Southern Californian rock&roll!

You Make Loving Fun, the fourth single from Rumours, is definitely one of the songs that made Fleetwood Mac who they are today. When performed live, You Make Loving Fun always gets the crowd going and usually gets a "Christine McVie" shout from Lindsey Buckingham for the recognition she deserves. Its funky keyboards and outstanding harmonies make the song unique and a favorite of many Fleetwood mac fans. In one of the few optimistic songs on Rumours, Christine tells us of her love affair of Fleetwood Mac's then lighting director, Curry Grant. While going through a rough break-up at the time with John McVie, Curry gave her something special; he made her feel valued and, of course, loved. Curry seemed to have been just what Christine needed at the time, somebody to love, and somebody to love her. "Sweet, wonderful you, you make me happy with the things you do", shows how much she adores Curry and how well he treats her.

When she sings, "I never did believe in miracles, but I have a feeling its time to try. I never did believe in the ways of magic, but I'm beginning to wonder why", it shows Christine is experiencing emotions she has never felt before. Curry is so important to her that in him she finds miracles and magic. She continues with, "Don't, don't break the spell", letting us know she doesn't want this "magic" to ever end, that she's happy and content with Curry. Curry made loving fun for Christine, something John may or may not have done for her. Either way, she had found the kind of love she was looking for with him and it was fun.

Sweet wonderful you,

You make me happy with the things you do,

Oh, can it be so,

This feeling follows me wherever I go.

I never did believe in miracles,

But I've a feeling it's time to try,

I never did believe in the ways of magic,

But I'm beginning to wonder why.

Don't, don't break the spell,

It would be different and you know it will,

You, you make loving fun,

And I don't have to tell you but you're the only one.

You make loving fun.

You make loving fun.

Why is Chris performing on a Roland EP-10 instead of her trademark Hohner Pianet? Was the Pianet in the shop?

J'adore cette chanson ; à la fois hors du temps et clef pour la nostalgie , impossible retour vers le doré passé des seventies !?

I like the alternate Lindsey crescendo with Stevie and Chrissy following. Both Album and this video copy are the best ever recorded in film or studio of this song!

I love Mick Fleetwood as a figurehead of this band, he just imbues rock n roll cool. But as a drummer, boy is he so lucky to have such a GUN bass player propping him up. John McVie is superbLindsay is superb and Chrissie is their most valuable member ( so gifted as a songwriter, singer and player).

Does anybody happen to know where this was filmed. I saw the tour when they played the Providence R I Civic Center in June or July 1977. Was anybody there or remembers the date? Really, really great concert.

the pundits give FM an A+, but the sad reality is that they are among the most recognized great, if not important, bands of all time... their musicianship is, simply stated, sick.

You can feel such an ecstatic Amen!-gospel flowing through Christine McVie's rootsy sound. I want to kick my shoes off and dance around the living room.
