That is why I absolutely love Final Fantasy Piano Collections. They're remarkably and beautiful arranged for the piano, and differ from the original in its very own unique way. I love how it draws inspiration from classical styles and truly makes use of what the piano can do. (:

I'd say as good as Schubert :) Indeed, this song is VERY close to Schubert's impromptu Op.90 n°4 (watch?v=lZm3JbzFzrQ) Simply compare this song at 1:40 to the impromptu at 1:15 and the similarity is undeniable. Still, Daguerreo is by no means a rip-off, just an inspiration to Uematsu, and this song goes in a completely different direction than the impromptu. Anybody who loves classical music and hates VGM (my mom, for one) is a fool that can't recognize true writing skill.
