One of the most soothing and delightful songs I have heard. From the artist, Fiji's album "Born and Raised", released in 1997. George Veikoso (a.k.a. "Fiji") may be the most versatile male vocalist in Hawai'i. . He does all his own harmonies & is the most in-demand male studio back-up singer in the islands. He won the Hawaii Academy of Record Arts' Na Hoku Hanohano Award for Male Vocalist of the Year, and won the public balloting for Favorite Entertainer of the Year in 1998. He has released numerous cd's. ENJOY!

Several sites have mp3 versions to buy. I did find some other sites which have the cd for purchase. Please research these sites before ordering anything. This is NOT an endorsement. I am just passing along the info I found on the web. Prices range from $12.00 to $41.00.:

Amazon & Yahoo have cd's and mp3's for sale also, but I like to buy from the artist if possible.

That is one man?I was lucky enough to work a show with a group invited from Africa to perform music in this style. It was an ensemble of twenty men and women. The voices we hear in this video, is reminiscent of last years production. What a joy, Thank You for posting.

A Kama'aina chant done by the musician, Fiji. He does all the vocals by overdubbing. It is all him. Enjoy!

It is a Maori song and this is George Veikoso's a.k.a FIJI (a Fijian musician who resides in Hawaii) rendition .Towards the end of the song @2:10 it incorporates Fijian and African lyrics. Hope this helps!! Music is universal :)

I LOVE this song! I know the words and don't even know the language, but I really love the music. I might have looked it up, but I forget what the translation is... I just played it for my baby bump!

One of my favorite songs when I was a kid. To this day I still love it as much as I always did. Also I remember when I was little my dad used to take me and my sisters to U.H. football games and volleyball games. I remember this one volleyball game where we sat very close to the court, though I don't remember exactly what section or row we were in, and Fiji sang the National Anthem. That was the highlight of the night for me.

George 'Fiji' Veikoso, the voice of Polynesian music. His rendition of this song and his mix of all different languages, cultures and sounds of the pacific is why he is the King of Polynesian music. No doubt

Thank you so much MyMoppet52 for uploading the soothing & melodious sounds of the Islands by FIJI! My son, Argentina, loooooooves the music of Fiji, and he has sung a couple of them. His journey in life has been a very challenging one, but none of his trials was too hard to handle because of GOD'S FAITHFULNESS & MIRACULOUS LOVE, and the music of Fiji!It can be time consuming trying to look for these lovely music of the Islands, but people like YOU have made it so simple for busy mothers like me to access it all at the click of a mouse. God's blessings to you and all your viewers & listeners! Peace, kena
