It doesn't matter if a government is democratically elected or not. If the rest of the town elected someone to come to your house, and threaten you if you didn't pay you'd still feel robbed. Democracy is just an excuse to rule people like divine right used to be. There's nothing wrong with wealth provided its earned through voluntary means like trade which is mutually beneficial. The state however is a mechanism that allows the well connected to become wealthy at the expense of the taxpayers.

If the mafia came to your home, and said "Give us nearly half your income or we'll kidnap you." You'd recognize that as extortion. If the mafia used some of the money to build a new road you'd still see it as extortion. The government does the exact same thing, and yet you see it as a necessity for modern society despite the fact that private roads that are open to the public already exist. Every service the state currently monopolizes can be provided more efficiently by the market.

taxation is not stealing taxation is taking money from everybody, so things can be done for everybody simplest example: you yourself can't build a highway, so you pay taxes, that the state can build highways true, taxes are often missused, but the idea of modern taxation is an idea of community, not exploitation
