It's pretty interesting to see everyone post their memories about this game. In my opinion, nothing like FFXI has, nor ever will exist again. People who have never played this game can say "It's just a game" or "You people are nerds", but they will never understand what it was like to have a game literally consume part of your life in the way FFXI does. Not even WoW could come close. I said it before and I'll say it again: FFXI isn't a game, it's an experience.

Couldnt't have put this better myself, my friend. I love this game and always will. All the late nights fighting Gods in Sky and killing Jailers in Sea. Watching old videos and listening to this music brings a tear to my eye cause not only was this a game it was a part of my life. I wish the game was how it use to be. Then maybe they would still have most of their player base. Love this game.

I also played on Asura as Mitchie/Ariannah. My husband played as Lust/Analyn. We'd be there on the classic server! We miss the old ways of playing. I started playing in Jan '05, and Lust started earlier than I did.
