Anti drink driving song from 1954. Sad tale and bizarre. "Get out of the road yer little fools !" A classic 'death disc' from Ferlin Husky. The other side being 'Slow Down Brother'.

Sad song but love it reminds me of my childhood in rural Western Australia, my nana used to sit on her verandah listening to all these classic country music, I'm 29 but love country listen to it every day

One of the worst (if not the worst) records ever committed to wax. Despite the pretence of a message behind the record, it sets out to do two things. 1 Make money for the singer 2 Make money for the record label. A record along with his equally dire 'Little Tom' that does nothing to enhance country music and in fact, makes it a laughing stock.

This song should be played on the radio. Maybe this song would teach people about the dangers of driving while drunk. I don't drink myself because I have seen what it can do to people. No way would I ever get drunk! Sober for life!

I wish that everybody that drinks could hear it just once. I'm not so sure it would help, but it might detour their drinking and driving! I have one true love in love, and he's guilty of it. God help him; I pray that God will heal him before it's too late!

I realize this is a tearjerker that addresses the real problem of accident deaths, but the extremely melodramatic delivery and the over-the-top irony of the drunk driver being the father of the kids - not to mention that they were talking about their dead mama when he hit them - makes this excessive to a lot of listeners.
