I'm gonna use this space to write down a reflection about this band. I've been a lot into The Velvet Underground lately, it's been a whole new musical experience for me... even though I had listened to their music before, 2 years ago. My first approach was a long time ago, with "Here She Comes Now", because of the Nirvana's version. I downloaded the entire album "White Light/White Heat", but I wasn't impressed. On 2010 I bought a soprano ukulele and started learning/adapting songs to this instrument and I asked my friends for ideas. One of them, Alex, suggested me covering "Who Loves The Sun". I didn't know that song, he sent it to me and I liked it. A week later I uploaded it, I was very pleased with it. It was one of the first remakes of songs I made. But it stopped there, I didn't listen to any more VU songs... until last january. I was on a day of leisure and I downloaded the whole VU discography... and I'm so glad I had done this. It's wonderful music, I totally recommend it. I don't like the vocals and the music sounds -in some cases- sloppy, but the songs are so strong that they just captured me. And this is rare, very rare. I haven't felt that powerful attraction to a band since I started listening to Nirvana.

Voy a usar este espacio para escribir una reflexión acerca de esta banda. He estado escuchando mucho a The Velvet Underground últimamente, ha sido una experiencia musical completamente nueva para mí... aunque ya había escuchado a la banda, hace 2 años. Mi primer acercamiento fue hace mucho tiempo, con "Here She Comes Now", por la versión de Nirvana. Bajé el álbum "White Light/White Heat" completo, pero no me impresionó. En 2010 compré un ukelele soprano y comencé a aprender/adaptar canciones para este instrumento y le pedí a ideas a mis amigos. Uno de ellos, Alex, sugirió que que covereara "Who Loves The Sun". No conocía la canción, me la mandó y me gustó. Una semana después la subí, estaba muy satisfecho con él. Fue uno de los primeros remakes que hice. Pero ahí se detuvo, no volví a escuchar más canciones de VU... hasta enero pasado. Estaba en un día de ocio y bajé la discografía completa de VU... me alegro mucho de haberlo hecho. Es música maravillosa, la recomiendo ampliamente. No me gustan las voces y la música suena -en algunos casos- torpe, pero las canciones son tan fuertes que simplemente me capturaron. Y esto es raro, muy raro. No había sentido esa atracción tan fuerte hacia una banda desde que empecé a escuchar a Nirvana.
