I think Pavement owes a lot more to The Fall.

yeah, this is silly. yo la tengo also draws from the flamin' groovies, mission of burma, and noise. pavement also draws from swell maps, the fall, and CCR. felt is great and continues to influence bands: real estate/ducktails' matt mondanile owes a lot to maurice's guitar playing. i agree that felt never got the credit they deserved. but if you care about that it seems like you'd support these bands rather than hate. look how ariel pink helped draw some deserved attention to r. stevie moore.

No-one is completely original. Felt were imitiating their favorite bands too, even Lawrence would admit that himself. I love Felt, but as far as I'm concerned they're the same ilk as YLT or Pavement, and all great bands.

yeah I love Felt. great musician too. Unlike alot of other indie bands that you cant stand listening to because they're as musically gifted as cactuses

The only source: Elvis' "All Shook Up". This song is great!

What a great song. These guys never got the wide devotion they deserved. I have every vinyl album of theirs and still enjoy the hell out of them.

@1doctoma FELT were a world of their own-sure theres A 'wee'' VU- Beatles 66-Television''' thing'', but mostly its them from 79-91 ten albums in ten years..I love the Pastels.but both bands were coming inat the same time Yo le tango Came way after Felt and I myself think YLT are unoriginal band who have made a life outta copying ideas from other indie bands. FELT= ARE Oringinal with GREAT LPS .bands like Pavement etc.should bend at the knees an kiss the ground when FELT Sounds are about .

a great indiepop song - and would have stood up well in the roster of songs by the likes of the Velvet Underground, Rolling Stones (I can really imagine Jagger singing this in fact), or the Smiths.

Lawrence didn't want to make it. He wanted to make the music that he wanted to make, and thank the Lord for that!
