Agreed. That's what made me lose interest in the culture too. It's often just another superficial clique, and at some point it became no longer cool to experiment and be creative and push the boundaries. That combined with the hypocritical sense of superiority I came to find in most punks drove me away. Still, the classics are good stuff. Too bad nothing seems to have picked up where it all dropped off...
