Fear Factory has come a long way, they started as a death metal band in early recordings but later started using clean vocals in 1992,which was groundbreaking at the time, later on,other bands started copying them, fear factory also played a part in,in the invention of djent <===a subgenre of metal, dino plays with a eight string guitar and sometimes uses palm muted riffs,Burton was actually signed to the band when Dino heard him singing a U2 song, burton was instantly a part of the band, the band has been through many members,Obsolete is their most high selling album due to that album being the creative pinnacle in the bands career, this album however isn't bad, just wish they'd would've got Gene Holgan back but they fucked each other over, burton didn't have the patience to wait for Gene, even though at the time,Gene was in other bands and tried to make an open schedule to record the drums on this album,if anyones wondering who Gene Holgan is,he's one of the best drummers in metal, right up there with George Kollias from Nile,Flo from Cryptopsy and Mike Portno, also Pete Sandoval,Blast Beats wouldn't exist without Pete Sandoval,in the 1980s he invented blast beat drumming which many bands use now to this day,so when you think about,Fear Factory are influenced by other bands and what they have accomplished.. LESSON OF THE DAY KIDS,lol.

I think FF payed homage to Bioshock with the "No Gods, no kings, only man" phrase. There is a banner somewhere in the game below a bronze statue of Andrew Ryan that says "No Gods or kings. Only man." This is exactly why I love this band.
