On this day in 1959 {March 6th} Fats Domino performed "Telling Lies" and the record's flip-side, "When the Saints Go Marching In", on the ABC-TV program 'American Bandstand'At the time "Saints"' was at #56 and "Telling Lies" was at #67; and interestingly enough, "Telling Lies" would peak at #50 and one week later "Saint" would then peak at #50...Between 1952 and 1968 he had sixty-six Top 100 records; ten made the Top 10 with "Blueberry Hill" being his biggest hit, it peaked at #2* {for 2 weeks} in 1957 on Billboard's Most Played on Juke Boxes chart...* The two weeks it was at #2, the #1 record for both those weeks was "Singin' the Blues" by Guy Mitchell...Antoine Domino Jr. celebrated his 87th birthday eight days ago on February 26th {2015}...
