On this day in 1957 {October 10th} Pat Boone performed "Ain't That A Shame" on his own ABC-TV program... Two years earlier on July 9th, 1955 it entered Billboard's Top 100 chart; and on September 17th, 1955 it peaked at #1 {for 2 weeks} on Billboard's Most Played In Jukeboxes chart... And on June 11th, 1955 the original version by Fats Domino reached #1 {for 10 weeks} on Billboard's R&B Best Sellers chart... Mr. Boone turns 80 next year on June 1st & Mr. Domino will be 86 come February 26th...

cool story, bro. fats domino is the creator of the song. pat boone covered it and because he was white, people listened to it, liked it, then wanted to hear the original once they heard it was a cover. THEN people listened to the original by fats domino and it got popular. they just didn't give fats domino a chance because he was black. and i disagree. fats does it better. by the way, it's kraken, not kracken.
