Bedlam posted this but all his vids seem to have disappeared :-(

Opening track from the devastating Viva Dead Ponies - Morrissey's Album of the Year 1990, no less.

Warning: in the words of the Radio Times - Contains strong language and adult themes lol.

Posted purely to encourage interest in this greatest of all bands. Do yourself a favour and buy the Viva Dead Ponies reissue and, hey kids. Keep Music Evil.

"I've got a word for you ...... DEAD!!A trampoline.........YOUR FUCKING HEAD!!!"Total utter genius! Cathal would rather mince people than words! :)

Absolutely STUNNING album. No other word really can describe it, It's like a sucker punch to the gut. And the fact that it goes about this process in so many different musical styles makes you wonder why the Mansions only lasted the four or five albums before dissolving. This song is just fucking incredible - the quiet/loud, soft/ferocious, dynamic is even better than anything Pixies did around the same time! Cathal is a great tunesmith and lyricist even during his later solo records, and sadly, hugely underrated..... but for the best and most ferociously brilliant music of his career, it's definitely the Fatima Mansions entire output between 1989 and 1994 which seriously deserves re-appraisal. People who have never heard of this band before need to fucking take notice. They simply wipe the floor with every single other so-called 'revolutionary' and 'confrontational' band since. We will never see their like again.

Remember ripping both sleeves of a mates new leather jacket pogo-ing to this song (UoLSU) . All their gigs were electric, magic stuff.

its all a bit of a blur now......i was outside hmv on henry street when the lads were doing a promo at the front door to promote this album. no stage. no nothing. just cathal some keyboards and a guitar. there was a fair few garda there, why? i dont know really. they were trying to shut them down after 2 songs, then they played this song. one of the classic moments in irish rock music. game over.

@Procycliste Disagree, sorry. I loved Microdisney, but preferred the Mansions. High Llamas have made some great albums as well though.

This remains one of my all-time favorite albums, and to think I came this close to never having it in my collection. Definitely Keep Music Evil.

Marvellous, thank you for posting. I loved how the lyrics sheet on the album simply said "Perfectly intelligible"
