Lyrics:

Born to an air of apathy

Indifference shapes a fragile mind

Questions formed at an early age

Beg answers unasked

Silent cries

Behind curious eyes resides

A child who cannot speak

Silent cries

Years find a mind alone whose

Questions flow too deep for words

Covered in a shroud of silence

Watching the world go by

Silent cries

Behind outcast eyes, hides

A child who cannot speak

Silent cries

Time blindly races on

Toward the autumn years

Seasons unheeded pass

While we all drown in tears

Questions unanswered remain

Alone they mourn a fragile mind

Silent cries

Behind lifeless eyes, lies

A child who cannot speak

Silent cries

Silent cries

Lets face it people. Who the hell sings like most ALL these metal bands nowadays back in the 1980's? That's right..... None of this Top 40 BS. Fact, metal bands had/has the most talented vocalist in music history. We could sit here and list A LOT of names who's power and range would smoke everyone of these crap artist on the billboards today.

Alder > Arch on more than one level. The most important being he knows how to not over-do the vocalizing. This is metal not R&B where you have to drag out the last word of every verse and hit every octave in between in the process. I specifically remember that being stated when Arch was kicked out of the band back in the day.

This is when Fates Warning was good with Ray Alder. After this album, the band went totally commercial. They are basically Queensryche now. What a shame and a total desecration of the name Fates Warning. Nobody can touch the John Arch era.
