I use to love the chorus. Completely forgot the verses. I was about 7 when this song came out so I had no idea who Chubby Checker was or the fact The Twist was over 25 years old at that time. When we were going to town one day after this song ended my mom decided to expose me to the music she grew up with and turned it over to the oldies station. Oddly enough the original Twist was just starting up. She told me that was what Chubby Checker sounded like in the 60s. I immediately forgot about the Fat Boys remake.I'd wager Chubby Checker hates that song now. He has to keep riding it to even stay in the public eye. I saw him on a local network on a show broadcasting out of Branson last year. With all of the songs he had written between 1961 and 2016 he was still singing Twist. Looked like he was just going through the motions, too.

@thevmanvj Actually Bing Crosby was the first artist to go number one on two Billboard chart runs with "White Christmas" and Checker only had 7 top ten hits his whole career. I mean I like him very well, but no need to portray him as some mega superstar when he is just a regular entertainer who was overshadowed by the mega stars of that era.

Chubby Checker became the first artist to have a song go to # 1 on two different releases....then cracks the Top-20 (#16) with the Fat Boys 27 years later. He also became one of the first artists to have 2 albums in the Top-10 at the same time, as well as 4 singles in the Top-12 at the same time. Great video that the entire family can enjoy.
