I first remember hearing this song several years ago, in this movie called "Jesus' Son." I'm sure I'd heard it before, but for some reason it really stuck in my head after seeing that movie. I'm not at all a religious person, but the song really spoke to me, and I loved it from then on. I sang it to myself so many times when I needed comfort. For whatever reason, the melody and the words always calmed me.
I haven't known how to respond to the tragedy in Japan. It's overwhelming, such devastation. And then my dad forwarded a video link which was frightening and difficult to watch. I heard the word "tsunami" and I understand the effects of a massive earthquake, but I couldn't *really* comprehend the destructive force and what that actually means, until I watched this video.
This song came into my head and suddenly seemed like the best thing I could do to express my grief for all the people whose lives have been forever altered by this tragedy.

If anyone has other suggestions for charities to support, post them in comments and we can check them out.
I know it's just a song. I hope you enjoy it, and I hope it inspires you to find your own way of showing support to people who are struggling, around the world and here at home.
Lots of love,
Terra
