Farside - I hope you're unhappy video free download

I must have had a dream about you

Cause I woke up in the worst of moods

And when I looked at the clock my day was already ruined

I'm glad that you like your new place

And I hope your new job works out well

I'm getting used to my kitchen and sleeping by myself

And as we talk and reminisce

I barely mask how deeply I'm depressed

And though I can't complain

I think I just might

Cause it can't get much worse

And I hope that you're unhappy to be alone

I'm at my suit job everyday

And Farside's writing a new LP

And though I still hate school I've almost got my degree

I keep myself so busy now

Cause I don't want to be at home at all

Cause everytime that I'm there I'm crushed that you haven't called

And then I dwell and reminisce

About the time I bought the angel dress

That you wore for me

And the sun went down

And you swore you were mine

And I hope that you're unhappy to be alone

I don't want to cry anymore than I cry, just as least as much

I know your children will be beautiful

But I don't ever want to know that they exist at all

So let's not talk and reminisce

Cause it won't clear the cobwebs in my chest

When I clench the phone and I grind my teeth

I know that I'm alone

And I hope, I hope you're miserable

And I hope that you're unhappy to be alone

Just wanted to turn more people onto this excellent band from California.

A wonderful band, and one of the few that gave me hope in the 90's that punk was not dead, even though it was rapidly being controlled by corporations and lawyers and being fed, all tied up in a bow, to a new generation of idiot kids. Hailing from Orange County, California, this quartet's legacy rests mainly on three albums, Rochambeau (1992) Rigged (1994) and The Monroe Doctrine (1999). You can't go wrong with any of them. All three albums are VERY well produced and recorded with a full sound that is very appealing. I'm usually not a big fan of production values since many times they mask a lack of talent, but with Farside the production certainly works well. Singer Popeye (Michael Vogelsang) serves up his emotions as raw as they come, with little self pity. These songs are beautifully expressed and very moving and the band is excellent all around. If you like this song I would recommend Page, Statues of Snow, Nice, Silver Anniversary, Constant Reminder, Rochambeau, and Audience. I first heard this group when I saw the video of Audience. Farside are still under appreciated but highly recommended for lovers of melodic punk.

After I saw the Gaslight Anthem cover of this, I had to go and listen to the original. Still one of my favorite songs of the 90's.

Just a little addition. The version of Safe Or Sorry currently uploaded on youtube is a demo version. The full blown (and more powerful) version is on Rochambeau lp. Also forgot to include the title song from that album in my recommended listening. With its spoken word introduction it's one of Farside's best.

I'm not a fan of production values (like the monster English groups of the 90's and early 2000's) but with Farside it really works. Singer Popeye (Michael Vogelsang) serves up his emotions as raw as they come, with little self pity. These songs are beautifully expressed and very moving and the band is outstanding. If you like what you're hearing try Audience, Page, Statues Of Snow, Nice, Silver Anniversary, Safe Or Sorry, Constant Reminder. Still under appreciated but very highly recommended.

One of the all time favorites. I've always loved Farside lyrics for their stripped to the bone honesty. No sugarcoated corny love songs with happy endings.
