In memory of Tom "T-Bone" Wolk, who died Sunday of a heart attack, age 58.

December 24, 1951 - February 28, 2010 -

Tom's great sense of humor is obvious here and he is wearing his signature smile throughout. The same one he wore while laughing along side the jokes during the guest host's monologue when he was a member of the Saturday Night Live band. At 2:05 in the video you can see Tom give Robby a wink and a nod, and that's something when you see you know that, "hey, they're cool man". RIP Tom, you will be missed, and your contributions not forgotten.

From episode 18 w/ Doors' Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger.

Ray Manzarek

T-Bone, did not know him but he was well loved by many others.

No offense, but Sly's version was better with a much more sit down, groove, funk/soul oriented treatment and better vocals. This sounds almost folky with the faux unplugged presentation - that is except for the drummer who did his best to set up a nice groove. Nice job however.

Cmon Daryl, I want to hang out for a weekend at your house with you and the fab musicians who come to your house. Invite Paul Macca and me and get a keg and make shrimp on the Barbie, I will cook. Time is flying by it is all I want before I take a dirt nap. lol

Great musicians formally trained (I.e., Temple University BBA) usually make great music and last until they die like Les Paul

Robbie Krieger and Ray Manzerak smoke the solos on this one. The band took out a little funk and replaced it with pure soul. Great job!

Requiescat in Pacem Ray! The man who played base and organ at the same time, Robbie`s solo was superb and in general Daryl Hall is singlehandedly reviving good music. Sublime fellows, you make me believe again, and greetings from earth Jimbo, wherever you are. Whatever happened to John Densmore?

Ive been hoping for the last ten or fifteen years that somebody would take us back to the great days of Soul and Rock...Daryl is trying his damdest to do that and hopefully a better generation will start to take a look at real music, real musicians, real vocals and harmonies and lyrics that have meaning and make sense. Music that I've always been proud to play for my kids. I'm thankful they've not fallen for what passes itself off as music today.
