Always thought that Trevor was a magisterial singer. Not everybody agrees - that'd be you Joe Boyd :) - but if Sandy liked him , that'll do for me. Bold Jack Donahue is a must hear.

Is that John Cleese on Bass? 8v) Seriously, thanks for posting this. I've got this somewhere on an old VHS tape and don't know if it still plays. History of Fairport or something like that. I really dig Richard but this guitar solo by Jerry Donahue is breathtaking. How'd he do that? Thanks for posting this.

I love everything about this; excepting maybe, Trevor's shirt. But my favorite part is when Swarbrick comes in looking like a crazy-ass elf.

This song appears on the "Trees" LP "Polly on the Shore" (1970) and I like that version more. Trees first appeared with a track on the Sampler LP "Fill Your Head With Rock".

This video was uploaded exactly one year ago (on my birthday.) I may well have been the first person to see it. Now here I am watching it again like I have done almost every day since. What a fantastic song/performance, and what a great birthday present!

It has been my first Fairport love. It has been a shock. It was 1973 on a tv program in Switzerland. Great line up. Strong voice of Trevor- and as you said Giulio all the band is great. Ciao. LAMAX61°

The guitar solo is astonishingly beautiful. And an overall superb musicianship - all the instruments get their chance to really shine.
