Hailing from the Gold Coast, Fairchild Republic could be described as playing an atmospheric style of alternative indie rock, completed by soaring vocal melodies. Initially performing covers during their high school years, they progressed into writing their own material when the band officially formed in 2009. Drawing influences from acts such as The Killers, The Temper Trap, Editors, White Lies, Klaxons & Foals.

Self releasing their debut EP "Ships are for Sailing" in April 2010, Fairchild Republic have taken a different approach this time around, spending the past months working on new material in their home studio, with the first taste of these recordings being "Villages" and "Waiting For It." Having played alongside Parades, Last Dinosaurs, Red Riders, Cassette Kids, The Cairos, Glass Towers, Rapids and sharing the festival stage with the likes of Children Collide, Philadelphia Grand Jury, Bluejuice and Grinspoon, Fairchild Republic have gained a reputation for a dynamic live sound and are hoping to showcase this with their new material.
