I enjoy this version of the song, but I still think Bon Jovi's voice and music to the song was much more energetic, strong and passionate. This is still pretty good though

You all are wrong...The song was originally written in my living room, buy a local band in Akron, Ohio. It was recorded with this band and Sonny Geraci. Then Bon Jovi did it as well as Fair Warning. I can give proof if you want to see the album that it was originally recorded on and what band. It's the music industry...a hard hard place to be!

@DarwinNebraska This is incorrect information. MCA changed LaFlavour's name to "Fair Warning" in 1981. This album featuring "She Don't Know Me" was released the same year & then pulled by MCA when the song was given to Bon Jovi. A year later the song was given to The Grass Roots. The Sonny Geraci version, released on his "Peter Emmett Story" LP did not happen until 1983. The "Fair Warning" version sung by Rick Dotin was the debut of this song. Actually, this is not the original version. The original version is by "Peter Emmett" which is actually Donnie Iris & The Cruisers (minus Donnie Iris) with Sonny Geraci on vocals under the pseudonym Peter Emmett. Mark Avsec of Donnie Iris & The Cruisers wrote this song. You can find the Peter Emmett version on YouTube also.

I have this song in a compilation album, with another three songs from them "Watchin' Katie Dance" and "Just Send One S.O.S." And and I have another song in another compilation album "So Bad". But that's all I could found from Fair Warning. I think they only released one album, but it's impossible to find. Great band and great sound!
