Out Of My Hands is from the self-titled debut album of the Boston new wave band Face to Face!!

A fantastic song! The album is very hard to find, even on CD, however, in 2006, the independent label Wounded Bird Records reissued the album on CD for the first time ever.

Michael Baker (1/3, 1/4, 1/5, 2/4)

• Executive Producer: Dick Wingate

• Epic Records/CBS 1984

More Information:

• Confrontation (1985) is the follow-up to the self-titled 1984 debut album.

While the previous album had edgier elements, like the rap in "Under The Gun", Confrontation was starting to move away from that style. Because of that, this release is seen as a bridge between the debut and their next (and final) album One Big Day. Like the 1984 debut, most of the songs were written by Angelo, with Laurie Sargent credited as co-writer on half. This record was not a success and would be the last release by the band on Epic Records. Many vinyl pressings in circulation can be found with a gold promo stamp on the back cover, making the non-promo copy more desirable to collectors due to its rarity.

• One Big Day (1988) is the third and final album and was somewhat of a departure for the band as it showcased the more country-rock material principal songwriter Angelo would later become known for. The group disbanded shortly after the album's release.

• Laurie Sargent, along with Dana Colley and Billy Conway formerly of Morphine, formed the band Twineman in 2001.

A Beantown and New England favorite that was such a "score Bobby Orr" type of band that put the music in your Face,2 face that kind of music you are a true rocker,or roller. This band is so great and blow's my mind why they never caught on globally. All their albums are filled with such great one of a kind heart pounding music.Thank You for sharing ,as I will share, for now it's "Out of my hand's"

Hot song, Damn Fine Band. Yeah, we're all transported back T H I R T Y years ago. Really wished they would have gotten the breaks/management/whatever to go Much further. Holy shit, 30 years, where did my miss spent youth go? Channel, Spit, a bunch of clubs in Alston and Kenmore Sq. Ahh, Boston in the 80s, I can almost smell you. Thanks for posting this gem.

You didn't mention anything about Angelo. Went on to write several songs that have won Grammy awards. He was the producer for Kings of Leon. He has written songs for Martina McBride, Tim McGraw, Sara Evans, Lee Ann Womack, Brooks & Dunn, Jessica Andrews, Trisha Yearwood, Patty Griffin, Warren Zanes, Peter Wolf and Kim Richey. He also co-wrote a song on Taylor Swift's debut album. I knew the band Face to Face in New Hampshire before they moved to Boston and had a different lead singer.

I'm from Boston and it is a tough choice to make. Face to Face or The Mighty Mighty Bosstones as the premier club band in the day.

F2F played at my college (Salem State) and Laurie came to the show sick as a dog.We thought the show might have to be cancelled. She asked for a hotplate,a pan of water a towel and some tea.She boiled the water, used the towel to trap the steam, drank the tea and 20 minutes later she emerged as this kick ass rocker chick. She was amazing that night. The show was terrific and when it was over she was literally carried to their bus.A real trooper.

I can't believe you finally uploaded this video. I remember when I heard this song for the 1st time. I loved it immediately! What a great opening for a song. This tune should be rerecorded acoustically and rereleased. I think it would be amazing, especially if Laurie did it.

What a great song! Reminds me of my days in Boston in the eighties. Can't understand why this band didn't go viral at the time, what a voice she has.
