What I mean by that is, since he took over def jam (the most influential label in hip hop imo) has there been a positive change in mainstream hip hop? well they don't play that shit in the DMV, all you hear is Rick Ross and the other JZ affiliated people. The new Nas I mean, I heard the song for Kelis, Bye baby or whatever it's called, on radio once, that's it.
