Eydie was so much better than Connie Francis she settled for ONE top-10 hit. I think Connie did just a bit better than that.

I didn't say Francis wasn't talented and, yes, I'm well aware of her soulful singing - and not just on the hits. But Gorme had a far more profound voice, close, in some - not all - respects to Garland and Streisand. Francis cannot hold a candle to all three.

The Impossible Dream, AldiLa, HoBisogno di Verdeti, Exodus/Havah Nagilah, Time Alone Will Tell.. I can go on and on.. Connie and Eydie were friends BTW.

I disagree. You must not be familiar with Connie''s great LP recordings. I Will Wait For You, Brother Can You Spare A Dime, etc. Connie is mainly judged by her hits, but there was a lot more ddepth to her talent.

Gorme was an indescribably greater singer than Francis

Really?? Gloria DeHaven had a hit with it in 1950's "Three Little Words", long before Connie F. BTW, both DeHaven and Gorme could sing the pants off of Francis.

I'm so glad you liked it! I was hesitant to post it just because the song IS Ms. Francis...but I know there are many Ms. Gorme fans out there too. I love both versions, so here we are. Thank you so much for listening to it! Jim

Hi, Heather! I know Ms. Francis made a classic when she sang this great song but I thought Ms. Gorme's version should be posted also. She has such an incredible voice, I think. Thank you so much for listening! Weekend was Great! I went to the Michigan vs. Air Force football game, The Wolverines won! Have a Great week my Friend! Jim

This is one of the better renditions of this song. Connie's is in-your-face, an attack, as it should be. You can always hear the emotion in Connie's style and vocals.
