For the third-person reference, SM's subs at 1:12 say "他," which means "him/he" but it can also be gender-neutral. "她" means "her/she." When I was translating this, I assumed they were referring to a girl and put "her," but after finding out the meaning of the song , I think they use 他 to be gender-neutral. I think basically they're trying to say "we should love each other more" or something along those lines. Doesn't really matter. They're pronounced exactly the same in Chinese.
