When the Wii came out, I actually bought one for my niece for xmas. I'm adorable.
The idea for the chorus was stuck in my head for a month... so I figured I'd write lyrics around it... and... make a video around those.
Sing along!
It's been months now, but... no one's got em.
Still I check game shops every day.
Bidding starts at twice the price...
but that's more than I want to pay.
So I call my friend who works at the mall -
she checks for me every day, she says
we got the other Next-Gen systems,
and so much more for you to play.
But the Wii is what you wanted,
but the Wii is gone...
But the Wii is what you wanted,
but the Wii is goonnnnneeee oooohhhhhh...
Every day.
Every day.
Oohbhoghblbhblhlbhelhlbhldbhle.
Billy got one, he plays it non-stop.
He forgot to brush so, tooth decay.
Carpal tunnel has slowed him down some,
but still he's mastered every game.
Well I grab my cell phone and call up my mom.
She said she's checking at Tarzhay.
I said, "What the hell's Tarzhay? Well...
do they have one?"
Then she answered to my dismay...
There are Wii games all around me,
but the Wii is gone.
Nintendo DS is all stocked up...
but the Wii is gone...... oohohhhhh...
Maybe they forgot...
to stock the Wii.
Probably not,
no one has the Wii.
But the Wii is what you wanted,
but the Wii is gone.
But the Wii is what you wanted,
but the Wii is goonnnee ooowoaaaa.
Every day.
Every day.
Oohbhhbhbllblehbhhblhbhbh.
Sincerely Word,
Toby
(This is a parody of Dave Matthews' "Everyday")
Matthews focused primarily on his work with Dave Matthews Band from 1990 to 2003. Since that period, he has occasionally ventured outside the band in various solo performances and records. Matthews sang on the track "Sing Along" on Blue Man Group's second album The Complex in 2003.[14] Later that year he released a solo album, "Some Devil", which went platinum; its single, "Gravedigger", won a Grammy Award in 2004.[15] To support the album, Matthews toured with a group of musicians (most of whom performed on "Some Devil") under the name Dave Matthews & Friends.[16]
Matthews is also a close friend of Béla Fleck.[citation needed] Matthews appears as a guest vocalist on Béla Fleck and the Flecktones' 1998 release Left of Cool and both Fleck and Flecktones bassist Victor Wooten have made numerous appearances both live and studio with DMB (e.g. Wooten soloed in the second part of The Maker, and also in #41 on the 1998 live album Live in Chicago). The Flecktones also opened for DMB on several tours.[17] Matthews performed a duet with Emmylou Harris on "My Antonia" on her 2000 album, Red Dirt Girl.[18] They also appeared together on the musical television show CMT Crossroads,[19] where the two performed Matthews' "Gravedigger" and the folk song "Long Black Veil".[citation needed]
Dave performed a cover of Neil Young's "The Needle and the Damage Done" at the 2010 MusiCares Person of the Year tribute honoring recording artist Neil Young on January 29, 2010
A parody (pronounced /ˈpærədiː/; also called send-up or spoof), in contemporary usage, is a work created to mock, comment on, or make fun at an original work, its subject, author, style, or some other target, by means of humorous, satiric or ironic imitation. As the literary theorist Linda Hutcheon (2000: 7) puts it, "parody ... is imitation, not always at the expense of the parodied text." Another critic, Simon Dentith (2000: 9), defines parody as "any cultural practice which provides a relatively polemical allusive imitation of another cultural production or practice." Often, the most satisfying element of a good parody is seeing others mistake it for the genuine article.
Parody may be found in music, art or culture, including literature, music (although "parody" in music has an earlier, somewhat different meaning than for other art forms), and cinema. Parodies are sometimes colloquially referred to as spoofs or lampoons.
