i understand it when people use it illegally, but the lead singer paid the mechanical licenses to use it. so thats what i mean when i say they're being 100% legal, since they're not selling the song. because the mechanical license is the approval of using that song. since i'm a music business major, i know they need the mechanical license, and the lead singer said he got one, so there shouldn't be a lawsuit. if the companies DO go through with the lawsuit claiming plagiarism, they'll lose.

explain to me how theyre ragging on her? if you watch the music video it has nothing to do with her. the songs about how bands are trying to do the same thing, they all have stereotypical characteristics that the Fold is making fun of. and they say they can never go wrong with playing a miley cover to please the crowd. how is that defamation of character? i thought no more or less of her due to this song. parodies are 100% legal. talk to Weird Al and Venitian Princess, they do the same thing.

They used a small part of the song, and the lead singer PAID the mechanical license fee to use that specific part of the song, so clearly, they're completely legal.
