This beautiful song was first recorded in 1968 but not commercially released until 1977 and even then only in England on THE NEW ALBUM (WB K56145) . Why, I don't know !! This version has never been released since. The more familiar contains an extra verse "I'm going back to Omaha". That version was available on the "Heartaches & Harmonies' (Rhino -229792) a 4 Cd overview of Don and Phil Everly's unique music. It may still be available.

Note: I don't own the copyright. Am merely a fan and felt that this great and rare song should be on the popular You Tube facility. That's all folks!

@vlihwj Maybe when the skies turn purple, the cows will come home! LOL! (And the Everly fans will still be debating all the finest details of their music!)

Absolutely~ justmusicandme--EB fans are very possessive with their idols-the Everly Brothers-and we'll stand by them till the the skies turn purple.

@tenniscollector I would love to see "Paradise" uploaded again, but I fear it is going to be blocked every time. :-(

@justmusicandme Err...Thanks. I'll have to look into that. BTW I did try to upload the second version of Omaha and a couple other songs but these were rejected on YT. One was "Paradise" an RCA recording. WOW!

Written by Don Everly....Robin Dunn is the last word....Don't ever be surprised at Everly fans' knowledge and curiosity about the smallest, most minute piece of info regarding the EB and their music! We will debate it until the cows come home! :-))

@AGibsonJ It's a pleasure. Thank you for commenting. I wasn't aware that Don also recorded "Omaha" on his solo album. Let's hope someone who has it can upload that one.

I beg to differ with you, but according to Robin Dunn's complete EB discography, Don is credited with having written this song. Consuelo Dodge did not write an authorized biography, but Roger Wright did. I read both of them.. But, thank you for the post.

@ebfan41 My friend thanks for you reply. But i have read that the writer was James Slater. Also Collector Choice have re-released THE NEW ALBUM in 2005 (Cat No CMM-563 ).

@tenniscollector I'm using 2 sources for this song. The CD Don's solo album "Don Everly" and the book 'Ladies Love Outlaws" by Consuelo Dodge.
