The one thing we all share as humans is pain. It's unfortunately inevitable. Different humans have different reactions, and different means. Anderson Cooper once asked, "Why do some people thrive in situations that others can't tolerate?" You cannot truly know someone else's life experience- whether they've made comments for vapid reasons or not. What seems trivial to you can certainly be utterly horrific for someone else.
