This is one of my all time favorite albums. Other's on my personal fav list, Prince - Purple Rain, Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here, Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral, The Beatles White Album, ACDC - Highway To Hell, Dr. Dre - The Chronic ... Basically all of the cassette tapes I had as a kid.

It's funny how you say that as I think there's as many people out there who say that the 'Be Yourself Tonight' and 'Revenge' albums were their best, as there are who regard 'Sweet Dreams' and 'Savage' as their two best albums. Commercially their 1985 and 86 albums were by far their most successful, but from a purely artistic viewpoint and in terms of pushing boundaries I'd say that with Savage they closest to doing this.

One of my favorite tracks. My god they were brilliant!! And Annie's gorgeously haunting voice. She had (and still has) a distinctly woman's voice in a sea of bubblegum girls.

I feel excellent with your division of the albums They were still great, but just like any other band. nobody else could make "no fear no hate no pain" and the debut In the garden, with it's childhood problems and great freshness ? For me, The first 2 albums are both the debut, just two brothers a girl and a boy born together. Cheers !

Eurythmics were indeed f**kin BRILLIANT in the beginning through to Sex Crime. For me, they then went very mainstream and quite horrible until the re birth oif Eurythmics with "Savage" which is stunning. "I Could Give You A Mirror" is just so DIVINE musically, lyrically and Aniie's voice on this particular track is just spine chilling. SO mysterious and powerful, IMMACULATE work +
