After concerts I'm sometimes asked: "How can you sing "O sole mio"?! I thought it was written for a tenor voice..." Man... Just put this great song into F major and a baritone can do this job as well! :) An the audience likes it...

LOL. As an (amateur) baritone, I am always gratified when a world class baritone proves that some song, canzone, lieder, aria, or whatever, will work just as well in a slightly lower key. Tenors get too much adulation. By nature, a good baritone can produce fuller, richer throat and chest tones than a good tenor. Many tenor arias would sound just as good in a slightly lower baritone range key. The biggest obstacle is often convention.
