With Keith saying about the lyrics: "If it doesn't pop instantly, I couldn't keep it. I didn't have time to polish anything. It had to be like 'If this doesn't mean anything right now, then it doesn't stay.'" That's definitely in line with 80s hardcore. Immediate, up-front, no frills. Obviously ETID doesn't sound like an 80s hardcore band, but the philosophy of the band is very much aligned with that way of thinking now. It's awesome.
