I took my B-1006 into ESP in Burbank and had the frets worked on (The top 2 frets on the C string buzzed a bit). When I was there I voiced my concerns on the RB as well as the see through lacquer Flame Maple EC-407 (and 1007 while I was at it) which they only offer Black or White paint jobs after discontinuing the see thru flame maple models. They let me know that if we email or call them they will take that into consideration as to which models they produce. So if you want the B-1006 back let 'em know. I know I do. Conversely my plan is to hit the custom shop to keep getting my B-1006 fix. They will do whatever you want and the price won't kill you unless you want some specialty additions. I mean really this is the ONLY bass that offers everything I want without skyrocketing over the $2000 mark.

I played one tonight at Guitar Center. It was sweet although I'm extremely limited on a 6 string. It felt and sounded like a perfect bass for tapping/shredding. Very nice tone.

Don't know why they discontinued this bass. Seems like they should have promoted it earlier. Maybe done a few different colors. Best 6 string esp makes. Rb1006 doesn't have emgs :(

I played one of these about 10 years ago. It played beautifully, had great action and a rich sound too. But, because I was unfamiliar with ESP I didn't buy it. I could kick myself for not buying it then. They are even better designed now. I finally got one in 2012 when I saw it in a music store. I bought it on the spot. It's an Awesome bass in every way. And, worth every penny.

I've had an LTD D-6 for ~2 years and I love it. It's a bit heavy but that's ok. I love the sound, the thing is great.
