I use to think Clapton was really good. But after learning of Mr. Johnny Hiland which most people have never heard of. Johnny is one of the very best clean playing and versatile ever !

I must have a "Tin" ear.. too many people think this solo is great for it NOT to be so. I can't hear it.. sounds like a typewriter to me.

Eric Slowhand genius vs Royal London Philharmonic Orchestra... doesn't get bigger than this!

At the finale there, Eric looks like a little kid on Christmas morning who just got exactly what he wished for. Has anyone taken notice of the magnificent Ray Cooper on percussion?

Man, Clapton deserves his legendary guitar-player status, but for being a greatest as far as playing goes, I think he is overrated..One of the greatest guitarists/musicians definitely, but not the greatest at playing guitar. It has nothing to do with his technicality or speed, it's just there are a ton of great guitarists out there that could solo over this with just as good/better feel than this. I've yet to hear Clapton play something that just wow'd me by tone, feel, or had an identity. When you hear Jimi or SRV, you know it. Clapton is solid all over the board, was a huge influence on guitar, but overrated playing-wise imo. And I like Clapton. Feel free to recommend something to change my mind
