He's got the shimmy down just right. Can't play no delta without no shimmy.

He sounds soooo much like Robert Johnson. I saw Eric play RJ songs live, and he gave me goosebumps. Obviously channeling Robert Johnson.

clapton has avery crisp clean sort of tactile sound to his playing whereas jhonson has a more wild and careless style, similar to hendrix

@roamingrino His 'Unplugged' album from the early 90's is a good start. This is from 'Sessions for Robert J' DVD documentary though which I really do recommend.

Get Sessions for Robert J by Clapton. It's the DVD and CD combo and its really, pretty badass.

Is there a CD or DVD anyone can recommend with Eric Clapton playing acoustic blues like this?

I love this guitar sound and vocal feeling. However, I think Roy Rogers is the blues musician whose style more closely, imho, resembles the intricate fingering and slide fusion so characteristic of RJ's style.I had never heard Rogers and when I did I thought, men, RJ reincarnated. Check it out and see what you think!
