@gundumauna Well, that's not strictly true. The Celts were a cultue and as such tended toward a certain set of beliefs and ethnicity (it was generally that way back then). They certainly didn't gain their belief system from the Germanics (Odn/Odin/Woden etc...),

@Normhib Actually the Scandinavians are likely descended from the Germanic tribes (so called for their mode of dress - the people of the trousers). In fact most people in Western Europe share blood with many ancient peoples who were forced West by others such as the Hun. In this case however, the Scandinavians as with the Franks, Saxons, Normans etc... wore hose, whereas the Celts wore skirts.

Most Europeans carry Celtic blood whether they like it or not,even the ignorant ones.The Celts Pre-date the Scandinavians (they are descended from celts too BTW ). Enya is probably a purer mix than most of us though. GO Enya! More power to you!

@Inquisitor53 I'm sure not all welsh are celtic because they've only learned english. Same goes for scots since less than 40% speak the celtic branch of highland gaelic. Same with the manx & cornish. You actually saying the two encyclopedias (along with several university books & publications on linguistics) are wrong? Celt is a root language, not a race. @kane335 Well, you're getting better. I agree with your interpretation of YOU being celtic since you do speak the Cymry dialect of the Brythonic branch of Celt. However, the World Book Encyclopedia & the Encyclopedia Britannica, along with a lot of other linguists, still say unless you speak any of the celtic tongues again because it is not the race but the language that makes a person or their race celtic (do look it up or go to your nearest university or college & talk with someone...
